NPA Declares Efforts to Safeguard Election Security
The NPA convened a video conference on the 15th of this month, gathering 769 key police officials, including chiefs, deputy chiefs, and division heads nationwide. The purpose of this conference was to declare the top priority of ensuring the safety of candidates and maintaining election security. The police force expressed confidence in their ability to thoroughly investigate illegal activities affecting the fairness of the elections, such as bribery, underground gambling, and foreign fund interference.

To ensure the safety of candidates, the NPA has instructed top leaders at various police departments to plan and command election security services. This includes coordinating with the National Security Bureau to execute security measures for presidential and vice-presidential candidates' residences, accommodations, campaign events, and street canvassing, among other activities. Additionally, efforts will be intensified to maintain the safety of legislative candidates, campaign offices, and all election-related events. Collaboration with election authorities regarding ballot printing, transportation, and storage will be closely coordinated to enhance security measures and assist in the successful completion of election-related tasks.

To purify pre-election security, the NPA will implement a "Four-in-One Special Operation" from December 6th to December 15th. As of December 14th, statistics show the operation has resulted in the detection of numerous cases, suspects and illicit financial flows.

The NPA emphasizes its commitment to combating unlawful activities without limitations, aiming to prevent the intervention of organized crime, foreign forces, and funds in the upcoming elections to safeguard their fairness. During the statutory campaign period, with the increasing campaign events, the police will uphold the principles of lawful administration and neutrality to prevent conflicts and disputes and enforce the law against any violent behavior. The NPA urges the public to express opinions and demands in a peaceful and rational manner.
