Annual Police Award Kicks Off Top Honors for the Nation’s Finest Police Officers Announced
The National Police Agency (NPA) held the 2025 National Police Award Ceremony on December 2, 2025, in the Grand Auditorium. Following a meticulous and rigorous review process, a total of 82 award-winning teams and individuals were selected and publicly honored for their outstanding achievements.

The ceremony opened with performances by professional troupes and featured public awareness segments on combating organized crime, illegal firearms, narcotics, and fraud. By blending technology with dance, the program offered guests an engaging audio-visual experience that was both educational and entertaining.
Midway through the event, the Kaohsiung Indigenous Police Band performed an indigenous medley and the song “We Are All One Family,” symbolizing the unity of police forces nationwide in their shared mission to combat crime. The ceremony concluded on a high note with renowned singer Xiang Huiling delivering a moving finale with “Friendship” and other selected Mandarin and Taiwanese songs, bringing the awards ceremony to a perfect close.

This year, from 88 nominated teams and 94 nominated individuals recommended by police departments nationwide, the NPA selected 30 outstanding teams and 52 exemplary police officers. Awards were jointly presented by Minister of the Interior Liu Shih-fang, Chairman Tsai Ming-chung and Director Yeh Li-cheng with the Police Friends Association of the Republic of China, and NPA Director-General Chang Jung-hsing, who bestowed finely crafted trophies upon the award recipients.

Among the honorees, the New Taipei City Police Department distinguished itself with remarkable achievements between July 2024 and June 2025. During this period, the department dismantled organized crime networks involving 120 key targets and 749 ringleaders and members, seized over 1,700 kilograms of narcotics, solved 443 telecom and online fraud cases, arrested 3,969 fraud suspects, and confiscated more than NT$1.026 billion in illicit proceeds. Additionally, police successfully prevented 2,618 fraud cases, blocking attempted losses totaling over NT$2.156 billion, and seized 81 firearms of various types. These outstanding results significantly improved public safety and safeguarded citizens’ lives and property, earning the department first place in the Group Award for Criminal Investigation.

In the individual awards category, the top honor in anti-fraud enforcement went to Lin Shu-hsuan, a squad leader with the Taipei City Police Department. Lin cracked the nation’s first-ever case involving a fraud and money-laundering ring formed by a lawyer in collusion with employees of a state-owned bank. The investigation led to the seizure of more than NT$60 million in illicit movable and immovable assets. The case also prompted regulators to impose a record-high NT$22 million fine on the bank, which subsequently cooperated proactively to rectify multiple internal control deficiencies—effectively curbing fraud and money-laundering activities.

NPA Director-General Chang Jung-hsing noted in his remarks that Taiwan ranks fourth globally in public safety. “Whether in the eyes of international visitors or our own citizens, Taiwan is widely regarded as a very safe country. This achievement is owed entirely to the dedication and hard work of all police officers,” Director-General Chang said. “We will continue to press forward relentlessly in our policing efforts, firmly believing that the future will be even better.”
